BIO
Fukuko Harris was born and raised in Tokyo, and she currently lives and works in New York City and Montauk, NY. She received her MFA from the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture after studying at Parsons School of Design and Marymount College. Her paintings, sculptures and works on paper have been exhibited in numerous two-person and group shows around the US, including at The Painting Center, in New York City; Trestle Gallery and 440 Gallery, in Brooklyn; Marquee Project Gallery, in Bellport, NY; Gestalt Projects, in Santa Monica, CA; Vivid Space, in San Diego, CA; Chabot Fine Arts in Providence, RI; and The Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Arts, in Las Vegas, NV.
Harris’s work has been featured and reviewed in a number of publications, such as ArtSlant, ArtMaze, Fresh Paint Magazine and Two Coats of Paint, and she has received several prestigious awards, including the New York Studio School's Hohenberg Travel Grant and, on multiple occasions, the ArtSlant Showcase Prize. Her works are featured in many private collections, as well as in the permanent collection of The Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Arts.
